Title: "Water Regulations getting stricter: Preparing Destinations for Compliance"

 

  • Format: Presentation + Q&A
  • Content: A policy expert provides insights into existing and

upcoming water-related laws, focusing on their implications for the tourism sector.

 

  • Objective: Equipping participants with regulatory

Understanding to align water-saving strategies with compliance requirements.

9:30 - 10:30

Interactive Workshop Session One

Topic: "Create your own Water Campaign by localizing Water-Saving Strategies"

  • Format: Roundtable Discussions with international Destination Experts
  • Content: Participants are divided into small groups by region or interest and will discuss with destination leaders sharing what has worked and also what did not work in their water campaign, giving tipps and support attendees to identify own campaigns in their environment.

 

  • Objective:

Identify and share insights on local water challenges and ideas for initiatives to solve them.

Co-create actionable water-saving plans tailored to the destinations or products present at master class

10:30 - 11:00

Networking Coffee Break

  • Objective: Allow participants to network and reflect on the discussions from Session #1.

Interactive Workshop Session Two

Topic: "Find solutions for your ideas: Technology and Innovation for Water-Saving Strategies"

 

  • Format: Pitching Round with international Water Technology Innovators
  • Activity: Innovative Technology Providers host a table and groups move from table to table to get a short introduction to the solution and see if it can match the ideas from Session #1

 

(e.g., monitoring water use real-time, devices to gamify guests to save water and learn, chemical-free cleaning systems, waste water solutions, greywater recycling systems, nature-based solutions etc.).

 

  • Objective:

Explore how technology and solutions can be game-changers for water conservation and can address regional challenges

Foster collaboration between destinations and solution providers.

Presentation of Ideas from Roundtable Discussions

Title: "New Ideas for WaterWise Destinations"

  • Format: Brief presentations by each group/ table (3–5 minutes per table).
  • Content:  Summarize key strategies and highlight innovative technologies discussed. Identify similarities and synergies and potential partnerships / agreements
  • Objective: Create a collective knowledge base linking localized strategies with cutting-edge solutions.
